About the store aurora design studio is located in the beautiful village of Bangalow in Northern NSW. Carolyn Mitchell needed a change from her city corporate architecture career, and chose to relocate near to her birthplace of Mullumbimby in late 2003.
aurora has developed and expanded over the years, and Carolyn’s initial vision of a store full of sustainable products has been able to flourish with emerging environmental consciousness of designers, suppliers, and most importantly, customers. Where possible, aurora supports local causes, groups and charities. We have a gift wrapping donation money box, and for the past year have been collecting for the Rural Fire Service.
It thrills us when donations are made without the gift wrapping! A current initiative is through one of our suppliers, art viva. Betty Jane pink knitting needles, made from sustainable tassie oak and hand painted, provide a percentage of supplier profits to the McGrath Foundation.
On top of this, aurora will donate 10% of sale price to the Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre. Visit us in Bangalow, we are open daily from 10am to 5pm.
